Near Stanford, there are plenty of really nice one-day trips.

Moreover, these one-day trips will allow you to discover a wide variety of landscapes: from the mountains, to the beaches, the vineyards, and coasts...and even a geyser!

 

Here, all of the excursions are less than a two-hour drive from Stanford.

 

Except for the bioluminescence tour in Point Reyes, which has to be done at night, all of these are daytime trips.

It is always a good idea to leave early to avoid traffic, especially when going to the coast. However, traffic is part of the American experience.

If you do not have a car, it is easy to rent one in California for a small fee (about $30 a day).
