Pinnacles National Park

Alcatraz Island

Pinnacles National Park is one of the 61 United States National Parks and it is only a 1h30 drive from Stanford!

Many people say that it looks similar to Zion National Park due to the park’s red rock formations.

Pinnacles is a great park that offers plenty of hikes of various difficulties.

When you arrive at the ranger station, you can ask them for advice on the different hikes.

The rangers are really nice and positive.

They will tell you that you “can definitely” hike here, which is “great”! :)

The hike going through the cave, the picks, and the reservoir is really enjoyable. This hike starts from Bear Gulch and goes through "moses spring trail", "bear Gulch cave trail", "Rim trail", "high peaks trail" and "condor Gulch trail" (5.4mi/9.2km, 1300ft/396m).

The entrance fee is about $30 if you do not have a National Park Annual Pass, which is $80.

The annual pass allows you to enter all of the national parks in the US for a full year, as well as some state parks.

Moreover, purchase of the pass supports efforts that protect America's national treasures.
