Saddlebag Lake
The area around Saddlebag Lake is really beautiful.
You will need to drive a little bit more than 5 hours (if the road through the Sierras are opened) to reach your destination.
This destination is accessible only during summer so it is important to check the snow there before leaving.

An important thing you need to know is that Saddlebag lake is at 10000ft/3048m, high so if you have mountain sickness it could not be a good destination for you.
It is possible to find a room in a hotel around Mono Lake or there is a lot of really nice campgrounds close to Saddlebag Lake (first arrived, first served).
It is also possible to camp in the wildness but you will need first a permit that you can book here.
One good point about this destination is that it is not really known so it is never crowded.

The area offers several nice hikes.
Most of them start on the other side of the lake that you can reach either by foot (2mi/3.2km) or by boat (roundtrip $13).
I would recommend the 20 lakes trial and the North Peak.
The Saddlebag Lake and 20 Lakes Basin Hike is a really nice one that offer a walk leading to 20 different lakes.
The total distance is 8.3mi/12.8km and the elevation is 310ft/94m.

The North Peak hike offers a completely different landscape that are breathless.
It is an 8.5mi/12.8km hike with an elevation of 2680ft/816m to the top.
